School Library Program

As part of DAL’s long-standing commitment to improving education in Sudan, DAL embarked on the School Library Programme in 2016 in partnership with the European Union. The project aims to build a total of 16 libraries in areas affected by conflict, targeting mainly primary and secondary schools in North Darfur, West Darfur, and Khartoum State. Our goal is to create 4 libraries in each state.

DAL passionately believes that every child has the right to quality education. By providing better opportunities for learning, we hope to improve the quality of education and ultimately the quality of life of the students directly impacted, as well as the lives of their parents, families, and community as a whole. The school libraries provide children with a space where they can explore and learn about topics such as peace, human rights, the environment, science, history, arts, literature, and much more.
